Welcome to the B&CSC!

B&CSC is an all-volunteer nonprofit that preserves, interprets and supports industrial maritime heritage efforts in the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay Region. 

Your donation to B&CSC helps save our history, educate people about the rich heritage and importance of the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore, and preserve a special part of Baltimore’s community, the 1940 CHARLES D. GAITHER police patrol and fireboat, the first all-steel vessel in the Baltimore Police municipal fleet.

B&CSC received a 2019 BNHA Matching Small CAP Grant to better plan preservation of the GAITHER, which is a generous gift of the Vernon “Pete” & Geraldine Johnson Family. This project has been supported in part by funding from the Baltimore National Heritage Area through the City of Baltimore general obligation bond program.
